DELAYED SHIPPING NOTICE
: This auction ends on the night of Monday, August 30. However, I will be out of town and will be unable to ship until after I return on Wednesday, September 8. Please take this into account and ask any questions prior to bidding.
Rare and fabulous antique advertising paperweight for the Heckel Patent Turn Shank [for women's shoes], Rochester, New York, 1890s, fused glass in three colors under clear, the overall dimensions 4" x 2-1/2" x 3/4". In excellent condition, with no cracks, chips, scratches of note, or losses to design.
The image features two women's shoes, one with and one without the device, together with a caption reading in part: "The Heckel Pat. Turn Shank Gives Comfort to the Foot and Retains Stylish Shape of Shoe. The Name 'John Heckel' Stamped on Every Shank. Beware of Imitations. M.F.R.D. by John Heckel, Rochester, N.Y., Pat'd. May 23, 1893. . . ."
Rare; I was able to locate only two other examples, one in the collection of the New York Historical Society. A fantastic opportunity for the advanced collector of vintage advertising, paperweights, or fashion-related memorabilia!
NON-U.S. BIDDERS:
Please note that I ship outside the U.S.
ONLY
via eBay's Global Shipping Program.
IMPORTANT NEW NOTE ON SHIPPING--PLEASE READ.
I'm not a fan of fine print and disclaimers, but a number recent developments have contributed to likely delays in shipping:
1) Recent changes at the USPS have resulted in longer shipping times, particularly to more distant destinations (i.e., the south, midwest, and west). Please take this into account. I generally ship using the least expensive class that's appropriate, but I will gladly make arrangements for expedited shipping upon request. If there are any issues with delays/tracking, please contact me immediately—I am happy to assist.
2) Most sellers are now required to enroll in eBay's Managed Payments program. As part of this program,
eBay holds every buyer's payment for two business days before releasing it to the seller.
This means that if you pay late on a Thursday night, your payment will not clear until at least Tuesday. If you pay on a Monday morning, your payment will not clear until at least Wednesday. Again, please take this into account.
In case of any issues or problems, please contact me before opening a request or dispute.
As my long feedback record makes clear, I strive to provide accuracy in descriptions, great care in packaging and shipping, and excellent customer service.
Contacting me directly first to resolve questions or issues greatly speeds up the process and ensures greatest satisfaction.
PAYMENT/SHIPPING:
Successful U.S. bidder pays for carefully packed Parcel Select shipping. Please see my other auctions for rare and vintage books, historical and advertising ephemera, photos, artwork, and mid-century design.
