The Chevrolet SSR is a uniquely styled car that took styling cues from classic American muscle cars and implanted them into a modern muscle truck. This retro-styled vehicle is powered by GM's 5.3L LM4 V8 motor which is paired with a 4-speed automatic transmission. With the turn of the key you can hear the motor fire right up with a throaty, yet subtle rumble.
This SSR is finished in the appropriately named color of Redline Red over a black leather interior. Both are in great condition and make for a striking appearance. Chevrolet gave the SSR large 5-spoke wheels which further complemented the already muscle car-focused styling.
While the SSR has the power and the styling of a purebred muscle car, it also has the comfort features of a modern vehicle. It has a power-operated hardtop, power windows, power locks, air conditioning, disc brakes, power steering, and an AM/FM/CD radio with steering wheel controls. Having been left in a stock configuration and with low miles this is a fantastic example that is sure to be well received in many automotive circles.
The SSR debuted at the Detroit auto show in 2000 and the reaction was immediate, customers ran into their local Chevy dealership to reserve their spot in line for the concept that was soon to become a reality in 2003.
