Description
The Avro Canada aircraft company began to develop the CF-105 Arrow delta-wing interceptor aircraft in 1955. The first prototype, RL-201, was rolled out and presented to the public in Oct-1957. The Arrow was an advanced aircraft for its time. RL-201, which was powered by2 Pratt & Whitney J75 engines, achieved a speed of Mach 1.9 during test flights
in 1958. In Feb-1959, Prime Minister Of Canada John Diefenbaker abruptly halted the development of the CF-105 Arrow; and 2 months later, the assembly line, tooling, plans, all existing aircraft, and all existing engines were destroyed.
This fully assembled, 1/72 scale, diecast metal model is one of a limited edition of 3500 that were sold by the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum. In my opinion the model is very well made. Please see the photos.
All the accessories and parts that came with the model will be furnished. This includes the stand, the landing gear, and the box. The photos show the model on its stand without its landing gear. The last photo shows the landing gear, which can be easily installed on the airplane.
I purchased the model brand new about 5 years ago. I took it out of its box for a total of not more than 24 hours. Apart from that, I kept it in its box, in a climate-controlled spare room. I believe it'
s in mint condition.
