About a million years ago, I did some work in the aerospace arena. I was given a couple desk models by way of thanks from the company. Over the years, I picked up other ones when and where I could. Always the focus was on genuine manufacturers models made of solid resin, not those mahogany things that come from the Philippines. These are the real deal. In most cases, the mold for the model is owned by the aircraft manufacturer. The premier companies producing these models have traditionally been Topping, Precise, Allyn Sales and Pacific Miniatures (Pacmin) and all were produced in the USA. In recent years, more and more are being produced off shore. All of the models listing this week, unless otherwise noted, are made by either Topping or Precise. Most are 1/72 scale.
Next off is the classic model of the F-18 from McDonnell Douglas. This is one of the ones given to me for my work. It is beautiful and has no damage, just a bit of dust. Made by Precise and is 1/72 scale. Measures approximately 9 1/2 inches long with a wingspan of approximately 6 1/2 inches.
First, a quick word about Best Offers. I use the Best Offer option because I generally get lots of requests to do a Buy-It-Now. This allows me to do that without all the hassle. However, the Best Offer is not an invitation to low ball. Any offers below the starting price will be rejected. I have a pretty high sell rate on my sales and most of my items sell at least 2X the starting price or more (I've even had items at 100X the starting price!) as I list starting prices generally well below my cost. While I encourage Best Offers, let's just say I encourage REALISTIC Best Offers.
