    Description

The P-51 Mustang is arguably the best fighter of World War ll. Originally created as the P-51B, it was fitted with an Allison engine. This model with the Allison engine suffered at high altitude. A new model was developed and fitted with the Packard built Rolls Royce Merlin V-1650-3-7 engine. This solved the problem and gave the Mustang the high performance that was required. Fitted with drop tanks for additional fuel, this enabled the Mustang to escort bombers all the way to Berlin and back. The Mustang remains one of the most popular aircraft on the air show circuit today, with numerous restored models around the world.
This Oxford Aviation die-cast reproduction is an detailed, rare, discontinued and difficult to find model. It comes with a display stand and is displayed in the flight configuration. It was flown by Major Louis "Red Dog" Norley of the 334th Fighter Squadron, 4th Fighter Group in April, 1945. The model is new and only taken out of the packaging for photographing purposes to better show the model detail. All sales are final. Shipping to the continental USA only.
NOTE: This is the only one available.
