Description
Up for sale, a fantastic model of the Vought V-173 Flying Pancake designed by Charles Zimmerman in 1939. This aircraft was actually flown by Charles Lindbergh in testing. The research led to the development of the F5U Flapjack WWII fighter which never made it into production before the war ended. The V-173 proved the concept of the lifting body. The model has a 10” diameter fuselage and has the Vought Aircraft logo on the base. The aircraft is now in the Frontiers of Flight Aviation Museum in Dallas Texas on display. The Pictures speak for themselves. Nice model, only one in stock.
